As modern horror maestros go, you would be hard pressed to find anyone as influential as Leigh Whannell.

The likeable Aussie has written some of the most gruesome and frightening films all-time, not to mention some of the most successful ones.

Having started his career on a popular Australian soap-opera (we bet he never gets tired of hearing that), Whannell has starred in most of the films he’s written. This time out, he also gets to direct for the first time, with Wan basking in the glow of global success with Fast and Furious 7.

Insidious: Chapter 3 is released across the UK on June 5
