‘Captain Marvel’ actress, Lashana Lynch’s role in ‘Bond 25’ has been leaked as a sharp-shooting spy for MI6 who has briefly taken on the codename made famous by James Bond, 007.

Lynch is not expected to replace Craig in the franchise. The latest news to come out of the Bond camp suggests that the switch is purely set up for the film’s events – and in fact when Bond meets her he tries his usual seduction tricks. The development reportedly comes from screenwriter Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s contributions to the film’s screenplay.

In the new film, Bond is living a tranquil retirement life in Jamaica – one that’s interrupted when US agent Felix Leiter shows up and asks for help to rescue a kidnapped scientist which puts Bond on the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

Daniel Craig will reprise the role of the suited and booted uber spy and womaniser, James Bond, for the final time. Returning cast members include Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Jeffrey Wright, Lea Seydoux and Rory Kinnear. Joining the franchise are for the 25th instalment are Rami Malek (playing the villain), Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, Lashana Lynch and Billy Magnussen.

Last week, it was also reported that Christoph Waltz had been seen on the set at Pinewood Studios confirming he could well be returning for a brief cameo as Blofeld.

Cary Fukunaga is directing the film after stepping into the void left by Danny Boyle who walked away from the project due to “creative differences”.

The script is written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, Scott Z. Burns with Cary Joji Fukunaga and Phoebe Waller-Bridge have also made contributions to the latest version of the script.

Broccoli revealed that Bond is not on active service when the film starts, but the film has already shot in Norway and will travel to Pinewood in London and Italy.
