Kristen StewartAfter bringing us one of the best films in recent years in Crazy, Stupid, Love., co-directors/-writers Glenn Ficarra and John Requa are partnering up once more for Focus, a con artist comedy.

The duo were originally hoping to reunite with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone for the leads, but we’ve since heard that Ben Affleck will be taking the male lead, and now THR are reporting that Kristen Stewart is in talks to star opposite in the female lead.

“Focus tells the story of a veteran con man who gets involved with a newcomer to the grifter business. They get involved romantically but that becomes perilous in a business where they lie and cheat for a living. The complications of the encounter haunt them when they meet up again in the future.”

Ficarra and Requa will be directing from their own script, and after their brilliant work on Crazy, Stupid, Love., I can’t wait to see what they have lined up for us next.

Stewart will of course next be seen reprising her role as Bella Swan in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, released this month on 16th November.

With Twilight now coming to an end, I’m really looking forward to seeing the direction Stewart will take with her career. She’s been encouragingly diverse throughout the past decade, and taking up a film like Focus opposite Affleck, under the direction of Ficarra and Requa is very promising news, and hopefully the talks will progress well.

No word yet on when the film is set to go into production, but with a bit of luck, the path to production will be smooth, and Affleck and Stewart will stay on in the leads. This is definitely a film to look forward to. More as we get it.
