We reported here that Keith Richards was shooting scenes for the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean sequel, On Stranger Tides and although that still seems to be the case, what is not so clear now is whether the scenes that have been shot will make it into the finished film.

IESB are reporting that Disney, who are bank-rolling the big-budget franchise entry, are concerned that their family image may suffer a little given Keith Richards’ drug-taking admissions in his recent book, Life.

As IESB rightly point out, how anyone could claim to be surprised at those admissions is beyond comprehension, however the frankness and timing of Richards’ comments have no doubt not helped him:-

“It’s not only the high quality of drugs I had that I attribute my survival to. I was very meticulous about how much I took. I’d never put more in to get a little higher. That’s where most people f*** up on drugs.”

IESB quote an “insider” as saying that Richards may wind up being cut out of the film, rather than have Disney risk being associated with a condoning of drug use.

What do you think? Are Disney right to be concerned? Is this a storm in a tea-cup? Comment below.
