To celebrate the release of High Potential, now streaming on Disney+, as well as its huge success in the US, we sat down with the star of one of the year’s best new television shows.
Written by Drew Goddard (“The Good Place,” “The Martian”) and starring Kaitlin Olson, High Potential follows a single mom with an exceptional mind, whose unconventional knack for solving crimes leads to an unusual and unstoppable partnership with a by-the-book seasoned detective (Daniel Sunjata). Based on the popular French series “Haut Potentiel Intellectuel (HPI),” “High Potential” stars Kaitlin Olson as Morgan, Daniel Sunjata as Karadec, Javicia Leslie as Daphne, Deniz Akdeniz as Lev “Oz” Ozdil, Amirah J as Ava, Matthew Lamb as Elliot and Judy Reyes as Selena. ABC Signature produces “High Potential.” Drew Goddard and Sarah Esberg of Goddard Textiles and Todd Harthan serve as executive producers. Kaitlin Olson serves as producer.
Chatting to Olson, we discuss the success of the show and its huge ratings, what the reaction has been like for her and those involved, why she was so drawn to Morgan and her unique story, working with Goddard, the incredible supporting cast, unanswered questions and cliffhangers leading into season two, and who she would love to invite on the show to go toe to toe with.
