Words and PicturesJuliette Binoche (Certified Copy) and Clive Owen (Closer) have signed on to co-star in Words and Pictures.

The duo, who have both carved interesting careers for themselves, will take the lead roles in director Fred Schepisi’s follow-up to The Eye of the Storm, which boasts a script penned by Message in a Bottle writer Gerald DiPego.

Words and Pictures (title change, please) centers on a charismatic English teacher (Owen) who creates an improbable relationship with and an intensely private art teacher (Binoche), only to complicate matters by falling in love with one another.

Production on Words and Pictures is due to start early next year in Rhode Island. So, assuming all goes according to plan and it proves to be more engaging than its elementary plot suggests, expect to see this one at film festivals around the world in 2014.

Binoche is currently filming Erik Poppe’s A Thousand Times Good Night, while Owen has a role opposite Mila Kunis and Marion Cotillard in Guillaume Canet’s Blood Ties, due out next year.
