Following in Gareth Edwards’ footsteps we’ve just learned that Chronicle director Josh Trank has been signed up to direct one of the stand alone Star Wars films. We got to chat with Trank back in 2012 for Chronicle which, much like Edwards’ Monsters blew people away at what this new director acheived. It seems LucasFilm are cherry picking all these up and coming new directors to carry on doing what they do best!
Trank is currently working on The Fantastic Four for 20th Century Fox and will no doubt get straight to work on this as yet unknown Star Wars spin-off movie following the release of The Fantastic Four in 2015. You can see our interview with Trank for Chronicle embedded below.
