Jessica Chastain will take on the role of country-western music icon, Tammy Wynette in the latest limited series ‘George and Tammy’.

Based on the book, ‘The Three of Us: Growing Up with Tammy and George,’ penned by the couple’s daughter Georgette Jones, the series will chronicle the country music power couple, Wynette and George Jones, whose complicated relationship inspired some of the most iconic music of all time.

Abe Sylvia wrote the series and will executive produce alongside Andrew Lazar, Josh Brolin, and Chastain as well as David Glasser, David Hutkin and Bob Yari.

Produced by Spectrum Originals and Paramount Network, the series will have an exclusive window of nine months to Spectrum subscribers before being made available to on ViacomCBS’ forthcoming streaming service and Paramount Network.

Wynette is best known for her song ‘Stand By Your Man’ and has been dubbed the First Lady of Country Music, and has garnered 20 number one singles.

Chastain’s most recent work includes ‘It Chapter Two,’ ‘Molly’s Game,’ and ‘Miss Sloane.’
