Fans have been wondering whether or not Jesse Eisenberg would shave his head to play Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and the fact that he covered up on set robbed fans of answers. Well, the first official image of the actor as the iconic villain has now been revealed and he is indeed sans hair!
It’s exactly a year until Batman v Superman will be released, so this image has obviously been released to coincide with that. Whether anything else will follow today is unclear, so stay tuned for possible updates.
Talking to Entertainment Weekly, Batman v Superman director had this to say about Eisenberg’s take on Superman’s arch nemesis. “He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure, other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course.”
The Social Network star has always come across as an odd choice for the role, but Eisenberg’s quirkiness sounds like it will be influencing this take on Luthor. “Our Lex is disarming and he’s not fake,” adds Snyder. “He says what he believes and he says what’s on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there.” Batman v Superman also stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, and Jason Momoa.
