To celebrate the release of Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which finally arrives in cinemas this week, we had the pleasure of chatting to co-writer and director (and star of the previous films, of course) Jason Reitman about the hugely anticipated sequel.

From director Jason Reitman and producer Ivan Reitman, comes the next chapter in the original Ghostbusters universe. In Ghostbusters: Afterlife, when a single mum (Carrie Coon) and her two kids (Finn Wolfhard and McKenna Grace) arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original Ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind, with teacher Mr. Grooberson (Paul Rudd) along for the ride.

We spoke to Jason Reitman about the initial conversations about taking on the film, what the true catalyst that sparked his interest, dealing with legacy, family and friendship as well as the delicate mix of new and old “ghostbustin'”
