Jack-the-Giant-Slayer-PosterRising young star Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: First Class, Warm Bodies) is front and centre in the upcoming blockbuster, Jack the Giant Slayer. And with director Bryan Singer (X-Men) at the helm, we’ve got a lot to look forward to in just a matter of weeks.

Hoult has been steadily making a name for himself in recent years, and now we’ll get to see him take the lead in his first mammoth-budgeted blockbuster this spring, following fresh on the heels of Jonathan Levine’s anticipated Warm Bodies.

We saw a great new TV spot for Jack the Giant Slayer earlier in the week, and now Warner Bros. have released the final US poster.

“An ancient war is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack (Nicholas Hoult), into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom and its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend… and gets the chance to become a legend himself.”

Hoult is joined by an impressive cast, headed up by Stanley Tucci, Ewan McGregor, Eleanor Tomlinson, Bill Nighy, Ian McShane, John Kassir, Ewen Bremner, and Eddie Marsan.

Singer (X-Men) is directing from a script written by Dan Studney (Reefer Madness), Darren Lemke (Shrek Forever After), and Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects).

Jack the Giant Slayer will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D on 1st March in the US, with its UK release date set for three weeks later on 22nd March. For now, here’s the final US poster, giving a great sense of the scale of the human:giant ratio. Enjoy.
