Shane Black’s Iron Man 3 is just weeks away from hitting the big screen, and the anticipation is naturally on high for the first film in Phase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Picking things up where Joss Whedon’s The Avengers left off last summer, Robert Downey, Jr. is front and centre once more as Tony Stark / Iron Man, and we can’t wait to see what he and Black bring to the table here.
With only a few more weeks to wait, the first clip has debuted over at Yahoo Movies, following up nicely from the latest TV spot we saw earlier in the week.
Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?
Downey, Jr. is joined by another awesome ensemble, led by Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau, Wang Xueqi, Fan Bingbing, and Ben Kingsley, with Paul Bettany reprising his role as the voice of JARVIS.
Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) has taken over the helm from Favreau, directing from a script he co-wrote with Drew Pearce.
Iron Man 3 will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D on 25th April here in the UK, with its US release date set for the following week on May 3rd. For now, here’s the first clip from the movie to get you in the mood. This is going to be epic.
