Seth-MacFarlaneAfter a record-breaking run at the box office, which saw it sail past half a billion dollars over the summer, Seth MacFarlane’s feature directorial debut, Ted, is arriving on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK today. And we couldn’t be happier.

The film is by far one of the funniest I’ve seen in a long time, and having teased us with brilliant trailers in the run-up to its release, it didn’t disappoint.

With its arrival on DVD and Blu-ray today – the latter of which also includes a nice Steelbook edition – we’ve been given a great interview to share, in which MacFarlane talks about animation, Mila Kunis, and Mark Wahlberg.

“Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane brings his boundary-pushing brand of humor to the big screen for the first time as writer, director and voice star of Ted. In the live action/CG-animated comedy, he tells the story of John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg), a grown man who must deal with the cherished teddy bear who came to life as the result of a childhood wish…and has refused to leave his side ever since.”

MacFarlane leads the charge as the voice of the eponymous Ted, with Wahlberg and Kunis absolutely brilliant opposite him, alongside Giovanni Ribisi, Patrick Warburton (another Family Guy veteran), Laura Vandervoort, Jessica Stroup, Joel McHale, and Ralph Garman.

MacFarlane directs from a script he co-wrote with Alec Sulkin (Family Guy), and Wellesley Wild (Family Guy), making for a great collaboration all round.

Ted is released on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK today, 26th November, and will be arriving slightly closer to Christmas in the US, with its release coming on 11th December. Be sure to buy or pre-order your copies now, because this is one of the year’s best comedies, by a long shot.
