There’s undoubtedly an element of pressure when it comes to portraying a genius on screen such as poet Dylan Thomas – particularly in writing a screenplay worthy of this wondrous wordsmith. However for writer – and actor – Celyn Jones, who takes on the responsibility of portraying Thomas, it was an exciting prospect, which was certainly made all the more enjoyable when Elijah Wood signed on to the project.
We had the pleasure of sitting down with both Jones and Wood to discuss their collaboration, and what it was about Dylan Thomas that they felt made for such a compelling narrative. We also ask about the writing process, why they chose to present this tale in monochrome, and we quiz Wood on his unique and eclectic roles he has undertaken of late.
