The-Dark-Knight-Rises-Anne-Hathaway-CatwomanOh wow. After taking a leading role last year in Christopher Nolan’s epic franchise-concluder, The Dark Knight Rises, Anne Hathaway is now close to making a deal to star opposite Matthew McConaughey in Nolan’s next film, Interstellar.

We first heard late last month that McConaughey was being eyed to take the leading role in the upcoming sci-fi blockbuster, marking the first piece of casting news surrounding the anticipated project.

And now Deadline are reporting that Hathaway is nearing a deal to join McConaughey here.

Having given an epic performance under Nolan as Selina Kyle / Catwoman, we love the possibility of her returning to work with him once more for his follow-up.

Little is known about the specifics of Interstellar. The original script was written by brother Jonathan Nolan, and once had Steven Spielberg involved at the helm. But Christopher Nolan came on board in his place back in January, signing on to write the script, which would merge an original idea of his own with his brother’s screenplay.

This is about as far as we know:

The film will depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding.

Essentially, it’s going to be epic.

And all the more so if Hathaway does come on board.

Hathaway is of course coming off the back of her Oscar-winning performance in Les Misérables, and we’ve been looking forward to seeing what her next project would be. And it looks like she’s found it, and made a brilliant choice in doing so.

Interstellar is already set to be released in regular and IMAX theatres on November 7th, 2014. The cast is starting to shape up very nicely, and here’s to hoping we’ll have more news on the project soon.
