I was going to title this post Chimps Vs. Humans but stopped because it sounded too much like there was another film jumping on the bandwagon of pitching creatures against each other. Although Fox could have called this film Apes Vs. Humans and no-one would have batted so much as an eyelid, instead they wisely chose to name it Rise of the Planet of the Apes and here’s a new video to go along with your Sunday roast.

We’ve already seen a couple of these videos along with some concept art and it’s a fascinating look behind the scenes to see how the director Rupert Wyatt and the production team researched the behaviour of apes.

One thing we’ll never see is the audition reel Rupert Wyatt made for Fox which won him the job. Taking moments from documentary footage of animals in captivity and the wild, inter-cutting it with riot footage and prison movies, as well as footage like the following video, to create a very interesting blend of simian on man action and the story of a creature all alone, struggling for its identity. Bodes well for the film.

Here’s the video, not long now until we get to see the rise for ourselves.
