In casting news almost straight outta Compton, Deadline is reporting that rapper-turned-actor/director Ice Cube is circling a role in the film adaptation of cult eighties US cop show 21 Jump Street.
If cast, he’ll be joining the likes of Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill to play the precinct captain whose team of detectives are tasked with going undercover to pose as teenage students to help bust a drugs ring within a high school.
The film is being co-directed by the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs team, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, and filming is due to begin in April.
