Elden Henson

Marvel and Netflix have announced this evening that Elden Henson has joined the cast of Daredevil, the upcoming 13-episode series which is set to premiere on the online streaming service next year.

Henson will play Foggy Nelson,  Matt Murdock’s best friend and legal partner. In a town full of crime and corruption, Foggy’s friendship to the community and passion for improving it have made him a friend to its many residents from all walks of life. The character was played by Jon Favreau in the 2003 movie.

The actor – best known for starring in the Mighty Ducks franchise and the upcoming The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – joins Charlie Cox (previously announced as Matt Murdock/Daredevil), Vincent D’Onofrio (previously announced as Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin) and Rosario Dawson in a mysterious role.

Marvel’s Daredevil follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.

The series will be executive produced by series showrunner Steven S. DeKnight and Drew Goddard (who also wrote the first two episodes before moving on to Sony’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 spin-off, Sinister Six).
