A creeping sense of dread rolls in like coastal fog as Black Bear unveils the UK trailer for ‘Hokum,’ a new psychological horror starring Adam Scott. Directed by Damian McCarthy.
Set against the windswept isolation of rural Ireland, Hokum follows reclusive novelist Ohm Bauman (Scott), who retreats to a remote inn to scatter his parents’ ashes. What begins as a solemn pilgrimage quickly mutates into something far more unsettling. The inn’s staff spins eerie tales of an ancient witch said to haunt the honeymoon suite, and those stories begin to coil tightly around Ohm’s fragile state of mind.
Soon, reality fractures. Disturbing visions creep into his waking hours, and when a shocking disappearance rattles the already uneasy atmosphere, Ohm finds himself dragged into a nightmarish confrontation with both supernatural forces and the darkest corners of his own past.
Joining Scott is a strong supporting cast, including Peter Coonan, David Wilmot, and Austin Amelio.
