‘Mortal Kombat’ and ‘Army of the Dead’ veteran actor Hiroyuki Sanada is the latest to join the ever-growing cast of ‘John Wick 4’.

Sanada will join the recently announced, Bill Skarsgard, Donnie Yen Shamier Anderson and Japanese-British popstar Rina Sawayama and Keanu Reeves who returns as the titular character.

The Japanese actor will reportedly be playing the key character known as Watanabe but otherwise, character details are being kept under wraps.

Chad Stahelski will return to the helm of the project while Iwanyk, Erica Lee and Stahelski will produce. Reeves and Louise Rosner will serve as executive producers. Shay Hatten and Michael Finch have co-written the latest instalment.

Filming will commence on the production this summer shooting on location in France, Germany and Japan.

Over Sanada’s long career he has starred in films such as ‘The Last Samurai,’ ‘Sunshine,’ ‘Speed Racer,’ “The Wolverine,’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’. He will also star in David Leitch’s ‘Bullet Train’ alongside Brad Pitt.
