Soon to be two of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, there’s an undeniably dynamic quality to the pairing of Will Smith and Margot Robbie. Warner Bros. obviously thought the same when they cast the pair in Focus, the new film from directors Glen Ficarra and John Requa, the brains behind Crazy, Stupid, Love and perhaps this film’s most obvious forebear, I Love You Phillip Morris.

Smith and Robbie are in the con game, playing each other over and over until it becomes hard to know which way is up or what your name is. A staple of studio productions the high stakes of the professional swindler invite a world of glamour and riches, allowing a ridiculous amount of wealth to be shown on screen.

We were in London tonight for a ‘special screening’ of the film and spoke to the cast and crew, notably Mr. Smith.
