There’s been a lot of speculation about when we’ll see the first trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse, with rumours of it accompanying The Martian and SPECTRE obviously proving to be incorrect.

Well, we now have word from the most reliable source possible, as franchise producer Simon Kinberg has confirmed that a first look at X-Men: Apocalypse will be attached to the biggest release of 2015. “Our first trailer will be on Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” he confirmed. “It’s our first thing out there so it is somewhat of a teaser but it’s certainly longer than a minute and it has a ton of cool stuff in it.” Expect it online sometime around the 17th then.

However, this won’t be the only big trailer from Fox coming later this year as Kinberg went on to confirm that a new look at Deadpool is on the way ahead of its release in February.

“I’ve seen a version of the trailer that’s pretty awesome, that’s close to being ready,” he said of the Merc with the Mouth. “I think the plan is also in December to put out the new trailer.”

While that’s unlikely to accompany Star Wars: The Force Awakens as X-Men: Apocalypse will, another big trailer expected to be attached to that is Captain America: Civil War, so there are going to be a lot of exciting previews with us before 2015 is over (there have also been some hints lately that a new look at Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is coming).
