Mr. Holmes is Bill Condon’s next film, and follows an aged version of the famous detective looking back on his life and one case in particular. With his sharp wits dulled by the ravages of time he contemplates the unsolved case from 50 years previously.
Ian McKellen is our hero, with Laura Linney playing Mrs. Munro, the woman at the centre of this strange, fragmented case.
There’s also a cameo from a previous incarnation, ‘Young’ Holmes Nicolas Rowe also has another shot at the detective in this film. Genius.
The film is having its world premiere today at the Berlin Film Festival (and we’ll have our review up as soon as possible) so what better time than for its star to tweet out the poster you see below.
A clip was released recently, that you can see below and, while anything with Sir Ian McKellen in it is worth your time, this looks to be something special.
