Mr Hot right now, Henry Golding has entered into negotiations to take the lead in the ‘G.I. Joe’ spin-off ‘Snake Eyes’.

Snake Eyes is a silent ninja commando who dresses in all black, never reveals his face and doesn’t speak. He quickly establishes himself as the group’s most popular member and sometimes carries out solo missions with his pet wolf, Timber.

His archenemy is Storm Shadow, a ninja who works for Cobra and is also his blood brother. At one point he had a special relationship with Scarlett, the team’s one-time-only female member.

Robert Schwentke is directing the feature from a script by ‘Beauty and the Beast’ scribe Evan Spiliotopoulos. It will be produced by Brian Goldner.

Sources are reported to have said that Paramount and Hasbro are currently trying to figure out how to put a new spin on the series, even turning to a writers room for new ideas.

The film will be the third film in the franchise, following on from 2009’s ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra’ and 2013’s ‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation’.

The film is set to hit cinemas October 16th 2020

Since his break-out role in ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ Golding has become a highly sought after talent. He quickly followed the role with one in Paul Feig’s ‘A Simple Favour’ and will star opposite Emilia Clarke in Feig’s rom-com ‘Last Christmas’ which is inspired by the lyrics of the classic George Michael song. Other upcoming projects include Guy Ritchie’s ‘The Gentleman’ opposite Matthew McConaughey.
