Helena Bonham Carter (The King’s Speech) and Michelle Pfeiffer (Chéri) are in talks to join the cast of Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows.

Carter and Pfeiffer, both of whom have worked with Burton before, are in line to play Elizabeth Collins Stoddard and Dr. Julia Hoffman respectively.

Based on the esteemed TV series, Dark Shadows is a gothic-horror tale centering on the life of vampire Barnabas Collins and his run-ins with various monsters, witches, werewolves and ghosts.

Johnny Depp (Alice In Wonderland), Eva Green (Cracks), Jackie Earle Haley (A Nightmare on Elm Street) and Bella Heathcoate (Now) round out the casting.

Production is expected to begin in April.
