‘Harry Potter’ series casts Charlie Weasley, James Potter and Lily Potter

Hannah Chinn to play Lily Potter in Harry Potter series

HBO’s upcoming ‘Harry Potter’ series has added three new names to its growing cast, with Harry Gilby, Jasper Talbot and Hannah Chinn set to play Charlie Weasley, James Potter and Lily Potter, respectively.

The trio will join the expanding ensemble of HBO’s highly anticipated television adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s beloved fantasy novels, which will bring the Wizarding World to a new generation while revisiting the story of the Boy Who Lived.

Gilby will portray Charlie Weasley, the older brother of Ron Weasley and a member of the magical Weasley family. Talbot has been cast as James Potter, Harry’s father, while Chinn will play Lily Potter, Harry’s mother. Although James and Lily died before the events of the first book, their legacy remains central to Harry’s story.

The first season, titled ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,’ will introduce audiences to a young Harry as he discovers his magical heritage and begins his journey at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

“There is nothing special about Harry Potter,” his Aunt Petunia tells him. But everything changes when a mysterious letter of admission to Hogwarts arrives, opening the door to a hidden world of magic, friendship and adventure. However, behind the school’s enchanted walls lie dark secrets, and Harry must find the courage to prove himself against the darkest wizard of all.

The newly announced casting adds to an already extensive line-up of talent bringing the familiar characters to life.
