So finally, we now have a title for the Ron Howard directed Han Solo movie. Ron Howard took to Twitter to make the announcement as filming wrapped on the production.

Via a video post, Howard thanked fans of the Star Wars saga as well as the cast and crew before finally being handed a board with the official title of the film; which is Solo: A Star Wars Story.

 

 

Howard has been extremely vocal on his social media channels since taking over the helm of the newly named Solo movie, teasing fans with pictures from the set during filming of the highly anticipated outing.

Over the last few months, we have also been drip fed casting news which included Warwick Davis and Spencer Wilding as well as John Powell coming on board to compose the score.

The film will focus on Han Solo and Chewbacca’s adventures years before the events of “Star Wars: A New Hope” including their early encounters with Lando Calrissian.

Alden Ehrenreich will take the lead as a young Han Solo, as well as Donald Glover as Lando, Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca returning as familiar faces. Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Phoebe Waller-Bridge are all new faces to join the ever-growing saga as brand new characters.

The next film to be released from the Star Wars saga will be the Rian Johnson-directed Star Wars: The Last Jedi which is out on the 14th of December here in the UK and a day later in the US.

Han Solo is expected to be released in May 2018.
