We’ve known for a while now that Alden Ehrenreich will play Han Solo in the iconic character’s upcoming spinoff, but the rest of the cast remains a mystery. There have been a lot of rumours and nothing concrete, but a report from Variety points to that changing soon.

According to the trade, Creed and Thor: Ragnarok star Tessa Thompson has tested for the female lead alongside Power Rangers actress Naomi Scott and X-Men: First Class’ Zoe Kravitz. This second round of tests took place in London earlier this week, but sources apparently say that it could be another couple of weeks before a decision is made.

That’s not a bad line up of talent regardless, but who the actress who emerges the victor will play remains a mystery. Many fans believe it will be Sana Solo, a character who was introduced in the Marvel Comics Star Wars series as being a former associate of Han Solo’s.

They also provide an update on Lando Calrissian. While Donald Glover was said to be the favourite, Phil Lord and Chris Miller will be conducting a second round of tests to fill the role.

With it still not clear how well Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will perform when it opens this December, you can’t blame Disney and Lucasfilm for being cautious when it comes to casting iconic roles like these for the Han Solo movie. Expect more updates in the coming weeks…
