Nicole-Kidman-in-Grace-of-MonacoOlivier Dahan’s Grace of Monaco has long been pegged as an Oscar candidate, something which was cemented even further in the spring when The Weinstein Company acquired the US rights and set it for release before the end of the year.

With just over two months before it arrives in cinemas, Warner Bros. have launched the first teaser trailer, giving us a look at Nicole Kidman in the titular role, starring as Grace Kelly.

The story of former Hollywood star Grace Kelly’s crisis of marriage and identity, during a political dispute between Monaco’s Prince Rainier III and France’s Charles De Gaulle, and a looming French invasion of Monaco in the early 1960s.

Tim Roth stars opposite as Monaco’s Prince Rainier III, with Frank Langella, Milo Ventimiglia, Parker Posey, Paz Vega, and Derek Jacobi completing the cast.

Dahan, the BAFTA-nominated director behind La Vie en Rose, is directing from a script penned by Arash Amel (Erased / The Expatriate).

Grace of Monaco will begin its limited release in the US on November 27th, a month earlier than planned, with its UK release date set for 29th November, giving it plenty of time to mount a campaign aimed at the Oscars and the BAFTAs early next year.
