One such contender is Heather Morris, best known for her role as clueless Cheerio Brittany Pierce on FOX’s Glee. Now, don’t get me wrong, I like Glee and find Morris very entertaining in the role, I simply find it difficult to imagine her living up to the icon most famously played by Sarah Michelle Gellar.
This does not, however, mean that she will necessarily be cast as the titular vampire slayer, recently re-imagined by one Whit Anderson. Amid praising Gwyneth Paltrow‘s involvement in Glee’s second season, she revealed to Access:
“They’re considering me! I found out and I almost peed my pants ‘cause I was so excited! If they make [‘Buffy’] when [‘Glee’] is on hiatus, I don’t even care what I do. I can just run through the shot and do nothing – even if I’m not Buffy!”
With Buffy offering one of the strongest female leading roles since Rooney Mara was cast as Lisbeth Salander, I’m sure it will be some time before we know for sure who will be inheriting ‘Mr. Pointy’ from Joss Whedon‘s acclaimed heroine.
