Summer is but a couple of months away (or if you’re Hollywood, it begins tomorrow) and as those all-important tentpole releases are being fined-tuned in the post-production stage, an exciting bit of voice-over casting has been announced for the big-screen adaptation of Green Lantern.

Esteemed, awards-laden Aussie thesp Geoffrey Rush will voice the role of Green Lantern Corps member and mentor figure, Tomar-Re. The character itself has been fully realised via GCI, but the makers must be very happy that they’ve managed to get Rush onboard to add a bit little gravitas and help breath life into their digital creation.

The film is due out on June 17 and stars Ryan Reynolds in the lead role, alongside Blake Lively, Mark Strong, Tim Robbins and Peter Sarsgaard.
