It’s been a while since we heard anything about casting from Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides but the chaps over at Empire got to chat with Geoffrey Rush at the LFF premiere of The Kings Speech earlier this wee. In the interview, he tells us that veteran British actor, Richard Griffiths will be playing King George II.
Griffiths has been around for years but is probably most known recently for playing Vernon Dursley in the Harry Potter franchise.
The fourth installment of Disney / Jerry Bruckheimer’s Pirates of the Caribbean stars Johnny Depp, Ian McShane, Penelope Cruz, Geoffrey Rush, Kevin McNally, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Sam Claflin, Stephen Graham, Yuki Matsuzaki and Gemma Ward.
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is released May 2011, and is directed by Rob Marshall.
