Well,  last week’s episode of Game of Thrones was a real tear jerker. It cemented this season as the best so far, with each episode going a little further and revealing a little more about the much (kings)mooted endgame.

A preview for the next episode has been unleashed online, and it has a lot to live up to.

The title for Episode 6 is Blood of my Blood which, as is usually the case with HBO’s pithy summaries, is likely to be taken in many ways. Here’s the synopsis:

“An old foe comes back into the picture. Gilly (Hannah Murray) meets Sam’s (John Bradley) family. Arya (Maisie Williams) faces a difficult choice. Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) faces off against the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce).”

So the title has Dothrakian overtones, as the phrase is one of the sweet nothings Khal Drogo bellowing into the eye of his bride, but it also refers to the long awaited visit by Sam and Gilly to the Tarly estate. The preview gives you an idea of exactly how warm a reception Sam gets when he turns up on the doorstep with a Wildling and a baby.

There’s also much hay made here with the walk of shame by Margery which has been threatened for some time. Jaime Lannister and the High Sparrow have a bit of a standoff which is sure to end in tea and cakes.
