Another day, another X-Men: First Class casting announcement!

Deadline brings news that Mad Men’s Betty Draper, the luminous January Jones, has been cast in the role of Emma Frost – a part originally thought to have gone to Alice Eve.

For those unfamiliar with the character, she is a mutant telepath who was initially known as the White Queen. In the comics she changed from one of the X-Men’s most dangerous enemies to one of its most respected members, although this plot strand may differ in the film version

The large ensemble for First Class, including such new and exciting talents as James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne and Jennifer Lawrence, coupled with seasoned, dependable character actors like Kevin Bacon and Oliver Platt, really makes me believe this have the potential to be a truly spectacular project, which could help to (at the very least) banish all memories of The Last Stand.

Is anyone else excited to see this property get a much-needed revamp?
