The ever wonderful Florence Pugh has landed the lead role in the forthcoming film adaptation of Nita Prose’s debut novel ‘The Maid’.

Pugh will play the role of Molly the maid who works at the Regency Grand Hotel and tidies up the guests’ messes and sweeps up their secrets. But things take a suspenseful turn when she discovers an infamous wealthy guest, Mr. Black, dead in his bed and sets about to solve the mystery of his demise.

Pugh will also produce alongside Prose and Josh McLaughlin and Chris Goldberg are producing the movie adaptation through their companies Wink Pictures and Winterlight Pictures, respectively.

Pugh was last seen as Amy March in Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of ‘Little Women’, a role for which she received Oscar and BAFTA Award nominations for her performance. Pugh’s upcoming projects include ‘Black Widow’ in which she plays the sister of Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff, Yelena Belova. She will also be reprising that role in the spin-off Disney+ series ‘Hawkeye’. Other projects on the books include Olivia Wilde’s ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ alongside Wilde, Chris Pine and Harry Styles.
