The Flash

After making his debut in Arrow as Barry Allen, Grant Gustin will lead his own series as The Flash this Autumn. Well, the first promo trailer has now been released, and it offers up a look at the young actor as the iconic DC superhero speeding into action as The Flash on the small screen.

Surprisingly, it doesn’t appear to include any actual footage from the pilot as it instead focuses on showing off how the Scarlet Speedster’s powers will be portrayed and the connections between The Flash and Arrow’s Oliver Queen. Just seeing these two interacting is a treat though.

Whether we’ll see The Arrow make an appearance in The Flash remains to be seen, but as this promo aired during that show’s season two finale, it was a smart way for The CW to build some buzz around the series. A full trailer will likely be released in time for the San Diego Comic-Con this July!

After a particle accelerator causes a freak storm, CSI Investigator Barry Allen is struck by lightning and falls into a coma. Months later he awakens with the power of super speed, granting him the ability to move through Central City like an unseen guardian angel. Though initially excited by his newfound powers, Barry is shocked to discover he is not the only “meta-human” who was created in the wake of the accelerator explosion — and not everyone is using their new powers for good. Barry partners with S.T.A.R. Labs and dedicates his life to protect the innocent. For now, only a few close friends and associates know that Barry is literally the fastest man alive, but it won’t be long before the world learns what Barry Allen has become…The Flash.

The Flash also stars Candice Patton, Jesse L. Martin, Rick Cosnett, Danielle Panabaker and Tom Cavanagh, and will air on The CW in the US, and will likely join Arrow on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
