Saturday brought with it the first poster and trailer preview for The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and the now the full-length trailer has made its way online after premiering at the MTV Movie Awards last night.
Starring Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, and Ezra Miller in the leads, Stephen Chbosky has adapted his 1999 best-selling novel of the same name for the big screen, directing from his own script.
“A funny and touching coming-of-age story based on the beloved best-selling novel by Stephen Chbosky, THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER is a modern classic that captures the dizzying highs and crushing lows of growing up. Starring Logan Lerman, Emma Watson and Ezra Miller, THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER is a moving tale of love, loss, fear and hope—and the unforgettable friends that help us through life.”
Alongside the leading trio is a great supporting cast, including Paul Rudd, Mae Whitman, Nina Dobrev, Melanie Lynskey, and Kate Walsh – even though we only see him for a moment, Rudd looks great as Lerman’s English teacher here.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower will be released in the US on 14th September, and though there’s no word yet on when we can expect it, hopefully it will be around the same time, because this first trailer gives a great impression of the film, and I know there will be many – fans of the novel, of Watson, and of all the cast – looking forward to this.
