The Perks of Being a Wallflower posterStarring Emma Watson in her first leading role since the end of Harry Potter, The Perks of Being a Wallflower has had its first trailer sneak peek and poster surface online ahead of the trailer’s debut at the MTV Movie Awards tomorrow night.

Stephen Chobsky adapts his own best-selling 1999 novel of the same name, directing from his own script, with a brilliant cast headed up by Logan Lerman, Watson, and Ezra Miller in the leading trio, alongside Paul Rudd, Mae Whitman, Nina Dobrev, Melanie Lynskey, and Kate Walsh.

“A funny and touching adventure based on a best-selling novel that has sold over a million copies in the U.S. and has been published in 16 countries and 13 languages, THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER is a modern classic about a shy, sensitive teenager caught between trying to live his life and escape it.”

This teaser is only a snippet of the trailer that we can look forward to seeing debut tomorrow, but already it’s got a great feel to it in this short first look at the film, and if this wasn’t already on your radar, it’s time to put it on now.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower will be released in the US on 14th September. No word yet on when the UK will be getting it, but fear not – the US release date was only announced last week, so hopefully we’ll be hearing our own shortly. For now, enjoy this first sneak peek of the trailer (be sure to come back for the full look on Monday morning) followed by the poster, which you can click to enlarge.
