Ashton-Kutcher-in-jOBSOf the two films that have arisen surrounding the life of the late Steve Jobs, I’ll admit that Aaron Sorkin’s is definitely the one I’m looking forward to most. That being said, I’m a big fan of both Ashton Kutcher and Josh Gad, and am intrigued to see what they bring to the table for Joshua Michael Stern’s take on the renowned entrepreneur’s life.

The film is set to open this August in the US, and Open Road have released the first trailer over on Yahoo Movies, giving us our first full look at the film, having seen the first clip surface just before its debut at Sundance this year.

Our man in the US, Ty Cooper, was on hand to see the film out in Park City, and he was very much unimpressed by what he saw – you can read our review here. But even so, I’m still intrigued to see what the film is like, if only to see how it compares to its lukewarm early reviews.

The story of Steve Jobs, the original innovator and ground-breaking entrepreneur who let nothing stand in the way of greatness.

The film tells the epic and turbulent story of Jobs as he blazed a trail that changed technology — and the world — forever.

Kutcher and Gad are joined by a great cast, led by Dermot Mulroney, James Woods, Lukas Haas, Matthew Modine, and J.K. Simmons.

Stern (Swing Vote) is directing from a script penned by Matt Whiteley, who makes his feature debut as a writer with the film.

Jobs (previously typeset as ‘jOBS’) will be released in the US on August 16th. No word yet on a UK release date, but here’s to hoping it will arrive on our shores only a little later on in the year.
