Babylon

Danny Boyle has collaborated with Fresh Meat and Peep Show creators, Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain, to bring a new show to our television screens. It’s name is Babylon.

The new series focuses on the British Police Force which (rather true to life) is in desperate need of a new image. Enter Brit Marling, the new director of communications, tasked with the difficult job of sprucing up the public image of the Force.

Boyle’s reputation precedes him, and, having penned the acclaimed comedies, Fresh Meat and Peep Show, audiences will already be familiar with Armstrong and Bain’s brand of comedy. As a result expectations for Babylon run high.

The first trailer gives us a brief taste of what to expect from the show, which seems to straddle the line between humour and drama, taking a look at policing in modern Britain.

James Nesbitt also stars alongside Paterson Joseph, Adam Deacon and Daniel Kayuula.

The pilot can be seen on Sunday February 9th on Channel 4.
