There’s a little less than a year to go until the release of Thor: Ragnarok, but it’s fair to say that none of us expected a sneak peek this soon! Very little is known about the Taika Waititi helmed release as of right now, but the picture below pretty much confirms reports that the God of Thunder and The Hulk will end up heading into The Grandmaster’s arena together.

That’s evident from the Jade Giant’s armour (something which should be instantly familiar to fans of the Planet Hulk comic book), while Thor is sporting a tattered cloak, his helmet – at last – and war paint on his face which doesn’t look all that different to Valkyrie’s. However, it’s what he doesn’t have which is even more interesting than all of that to be combined.

Mjolnir is nowhere to be seen, as Thor is instead wielding two powerful looking swords!

Could it be that the hero has been deemed unworthy by the time he enters that gladiatorial arena? If so, you have to believe that there’s a chance that has something to do with the villainous Hela (Cate Blanchett) and Loki. Chances are though that we won’t find out for quite some time, but for now, this promo art is definitely more than enough to keep us going…
