It’s been over a year since we last saw Joseph Gordon-Levitt take centre stage in Don Jon, and whilst he was part of the ensemble in this year’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, I can’t wait to see him back under the spotlight for The Walk, a film which has the potential to launch him into Best Actor territory in next year’s awards season.

Robert Zemeckis is back in live-action territory, continuing his return following 2012’s Flight. And now Sony has launched the first teaser trailer to whet our appetites.

The Walk is the true story of a young dreamer, Philippe Petit, and a band of unlikely recruits who together achieve the impossible: an illegal wire walk in the immense void between the World Trade Center towers. With little more than nerve and blind ambition, Petit and his ragtag crew overcome daunting physical obstacles, betrayals, countless close calls and overwhelming odds to beat the system and execute their mad plan.

Gordon-Levitt shares the screen with Charlotte Le Bon (The Hundred-Foot Journey), Ben Kingsley (Exodus: Gods and Kings), and James Badge Dale (Iron Man 3).

The Walk will be released in 3D on 2nd October in the US and UK.
