Starring Mark Wahlberg and Russell Crowe in the leads, Broken City marks director Allen Hughes’ first feature behind the camera without his brother, Albert, having co-directed the likes of From Hell, The Book of Eli, and Dead Presidents through their career.
The anticipated political thrillers hits theatres early in the new year, and now IMDb have debuted the first poster, giving us a solid look at Wahlberg’s ex-cop and Crowe’s politician characters.
An official synopsis is still forthcoming, but the film sees Wahlberg as a private detective, hired by a powerful politician (Crowe) to identify the lover of his unfaithful wife.
Catherine Zeta-Jones stars as Crowe’s unfaithful wife, with a strong supporting cast in the form of Kyle Chandler, Barry Pepper, Jeffrey Wright, and Natalie Martinez (End of Watch).
Hughes is directing from a script by newcomer Brian Tucker, with the director producing alongside Wahlberg and the latter’s frequent collaborator, Stephen Levinson (Entourage, Boardwalk Empire).
Broken City will be released in the US on 18th January, 2013, and will be coming to the UK a week later for a 25th January release.
