Originally set to be led by Shia LaBeouf last year, Horns has since had its lead re-cast in Daniel Radcliffe, who looks set to continue his increasingly diverse career following Harry Potter.

Yesterday marked Radcliffe’s first day in the make-up chair out in Vancouver for the upcoming film, and EW have got the first image showing the results. It appears not to be an official image still, but it does give us a very good idea of what to expect.

Radcliffe stars as,

“Ig Perrish, a 26-year-old who awakens from a black-out hangover to find horns sprouting from his head. As his horns grow bigger, Ig sets out to investigate the unsolved murder of his girlfriend and the case’s connection to his cursed fate.”

Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, Switchblade Romance) is behind the camera, directing from a script by Keith Bunin (In Treatment), adapting the original novel of the same name by Joe Hill.

Starring alongside Radcliffe is set to be Juno Temple (The Dark Knight Rises), James Remar (Dexter), and Kelli Garner (Lars and the Real Girl).

No word yet on when we can expect Horns to hit the big screen, but with production getting underway out in Canada, hopefully we’ll be seeing it arrive in theatres in the second half of 2013. For now, here’s your first look at what you can expect Radcliffe to look like following his black-out hangover.
