Apple TV has lifted the curtain just enough to let the light bend strangely through it. The first-look images for ‘Dark Matter’ season 2 have arrived.

Based on the blockbuster novel by Blake Crouch, the series continues to explore the haunting question: what if your life took a different turn?

Season one followed Jason Dessen, played by Joel Edgerton, a physicist and family man whose quiet Chicago existence is violently disrupted when he’s abducted into an alternate version of his own life. What begins as wonder quickly mutates into a labyrinthine nightmare, as Jason struggles to find his way back to the life he knows.

Now, Season 2 picks up with Jason and Daniela, portrayed by Jennifer Connelly, attempting to rebuild something resembling peace. But in a universe that refuses to stay still, calm is just another illusion.

Beyond the Dessens, the multiverse continues to twist the fates of others:

  • Amanda, played by Alice Braga, and Ryan, portrayed by Jimmi Simpson, form an uneasy alliance as they fight to return home.
  • Blair, played by Amanda Brugel, is determined to stop Jason’s dangerous trajectory.
  • Leighton, portrayed by Dayo Okeniyi, continues his relentless pursuit of building a “perfect” world, whatever the cost.

The ten-episode second season of Dark Matter premieres on August 28, 2026, on Apple TV. The rollout follows a weekly release pattern: Episode 1: August 28, 2026, with new episodes every Friday. The finale arrives on October 30, 2026.
