Season three of Arrow received something of a mixed response from fans. Ra’s al Ghul simply failed to top Deathstroke as a villain, and many fans were left cold by some of the creative decisions which were made.

Well, season four is looking to shake things up in a major way! It was revealed at Comic-Con last night that Starling City is finally going to become Star City (as it’s named in the comic books) and Oliver Queen will be getting a very cool new costume as he finally goes from vigilante to superhero as the Green Arrow.

They also announced during the panel that Batman foe Anarky and super genius Mr. Terrific will be introduced in season four. The latter will be portrayed as being gay in this continuity as they want some LGBT representation in the show. That’s a departure from the comics, but far from a big deal.

As for The Flash, their portion of DC’s panel kicked off with a bang thanks to the trailer you can see below.

Skip to the 4:15 mark and you’ll see that they’ve revealed that Zoom will be the main villain of season two. How he will differ from the comics remains to be seen, though it sounds like Tom Cavanagh is involved!

They also announced that Wally West is finally coming to the series, as are Jay Garrick and Patty Spivot.

Masters of Sex star Teddy Sears will be joining the cast as Garrick. In the show, Jay is described as a mysterious figure who arrives in Central City to warn Barry Allen and his team at S.T.A.R. Labs of an impending danger that he alone cannot hope to stop. It was also revealed that Shantel VanSanten (The Messengers) is going to play Patty Spivot, a police officer obsessed with metahumans and partners with Det. Joe West, but he has no idea that her new crush is the Flash. Things are about to get real interesting, eh?
