AMC turned Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead comic book series into a global phenomenon, and it’s hoped that the cable network will do the same for Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s upcoming adaptation of Garth Ennis’ critically acclaimed Preacher.

Slated to debut in May, the series is based on the popular, cult comic book franchise of the same name. Preacher is a supernatural, twisted and darkly comedic drama that follows a West Texas preacher named Jesse Custer, who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that causes him to develop a highly unusual power. Jesse, his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip and an Irish vagabond named Cassidy come together and when they do, they are thrust into a crazy world populated by a cast of characters from Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.

One character not mentioned above is Arseface, a very unique looking fan-favourite part of the comic book series who many suspected would be kept under wraps until the show debuts. However, AMC has revealed a first look at him today, and well, they’ve done a great job of bringing Arseface to life in live-action without making any drastic changes.

That’s a surprise, especially as it’s become commonplace for characters like this to be made to look a little more realistic when they make the jump from page to screen. That’s not the case with Arseface anyway, and you can take a look at  Ian Colletti in the role below.
