Four-time Oscar winner Nick Park, creator of Wallace and Gromit, has been working alongside the National Trust to create a minute-long short film that sees the return of the beloved duo in A Jubilee Bunt-a-thon, celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee this summer.
The film will be premiering at 14 National Trust locations (listed below), along with a behind-the-scenes documentary screening at the Trust’s Jubilee parties, The Telegraph report.
Six images have now surfaced from what is sure to be another fan-favourite from Park and Aardman Animations, via IMDb, giving us a look at Wallace and Gromit preparing for the royal celebrations.
Park said: “I have to pinch myself when I think how far Wallace and Gromit have come. From ideas in my head, to ‘film stars’ working with great organisations such as the National Trust, which the nation holds dear to its heart.
“Wallace and Gromit are in for a cracking summer at the National Trust.
“The National Trust has a special place in my heart from a childhood memory of completing a paint-by-numbers at Stourhead, to Montacute House, on which we based Tottington Hall in the Curse Of The Were-rabbit.”
If you’re a fan of Park’s, and Wallace and Gromit’s, and you don’t already have plans for the Bank Holiday weekend next month, this could well be something to look into.
National Trust sites showing the Wallace and Gromit film at the Jubilee parties on June 4 are: Wallington in Northumberland; Beningbrough Hall in York; Belton in Grantham; Attingham in Shrewsbury; Powis Castle in Wales; Penrhyn Castle in Bangor; Basildon Park in Reading; Morden Hall Park in London; Tyntesfield in Bristol; Felbrigg Hall in Norwich; Anglesey Abbey in Cambridge; Springhill in Magherafelt, Northern Ireland; and Castle Ward in Downpatrick, Northern Ireland.
It will be shown at Quarry Bank Mill, Cheshire, on July 15.
