With the film already out in cinemas, we have a brand new exclusive featurette from Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool which features a touching look on Jamie Bell’s character Peter Turner, narrated by Bell himself and gives a little snippet of just why this movie is being considered for so many movie awards.

Based on Peter Turner’s memoir, the film follows the playful but passionate relationship between Liverpudlian Turner (Bell) and the eccentric Academy Award-winning actress Gloria Grahame (Bening). Set in the late 70’s, The film has all the traditional hallmarks of a heartwarming and feel good British comedy as Bening and her Toyboy, Bell embarks on what seems like an innocent relationship of friendship which soon turns into a real-life movie romance.

Directed by Paul McGuigan, the film stars Annette Bening, Jamie Bell, Julie Walters, Vanessa Redgrave, Kenneth Cranham, Stephen Graham, Frances Barber, and Leanne Best.

Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool Official Synopsis

Liverpool, 1978: What starts as a vibrant affair between a legendary femme fatale and her young lover quickly grows into a deeper relationship, with Turner being the person Gloria turns to for comfort. Their passion and lust for life is tested to the limits by events beyond their control. Gloria Grahame was a Hollywood leading lady at the heart of several hit films from the Golden Age of Hollywood, including The Big Heat, It’s a Wonderful LifeIn a Lonely Place, and Oklahoma! She won the Academy Award® for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Bad and the Beautiful.
