AMC has announced today that spinoff series Fear The Walking Dead will return on Sunday, April 10th. The first season was shown on the BT exclusive AMC channel in the UK, meaning it reached a much smaller audience than The Walking Dead does on Fox (which is a Sky channel), but it will presumably return there around the same time this spring.

This choice of premiere date for season two isn’t really a huge surprise anyway, especially as The Walking Dead wraps up its sixth season on April 3rd. The fact that Fear The Walking Dead follows just one week later is a smart move, as it will likely keep viewers coming back on Sunday nights, no doubt helping the cable network to break even more ratings records!

It’s also been confirmed that each episode will be followed by Chris Hardwick’s Talking Dead.

Season two of Fear The Walking Dead is going to receive a major shake up, as production is now moving to the Baja peninsula in Mexico. The first official images below also show off the fact that the survivors are going to be spending some time at sea as they attempt to escape the zombie apocalypse. That’s something not even the main series has explored just yet!

Fear The Walking Dead received a somewhat mixed reaction last year, but had a lot of great points, so it will definitely be interesting to see how the show pans out moving forward.
